About Hybrid Athlete Fitness

Chris Soto, CSCS, TSAC-F

Founded by Chris Soto in 2022, HAF aims to help everyone, from the average gym-goer to the high performer and every athlete in between, achieve their goals of combining serious strength and endurance. 


As a former D3 collegiate Cross Country and Track & Field middle distance runner, Chris's interest in hybrid training began after attempting to add swimming and strength into his training post-collegiately and improving with little success. This started a decade-long journey in learning the necessary exercise physiology, nutrition, and proper programming to create sustainable training for athletes interested in hybrid fitness.


Chris focuses his coaching efforts on hybrid athletes, distance runners (from the mile to the half-marathon), general population athletes, and tactical athletes, including local aspiring firefighters in the Albuquerque, NM area. He believes in delivering an empathetic and highly collaborative coaching experience that focuses on the individual's needs.


He also has a particular passion for educating beginners on strength, conditioning, and nutrition, while also helping assuage fears of the weight room and general physical activity.


Chris has learned about all aspects of strength and conditioning through numerous reputable industry professionals, having studied directly under the Complete Human Performance team, the Compound Performance team, Dr. Pat Davidson, Dr. Layne Norton, Angus Bradley, and more. 


Chris lives and trains out of Lux Fitness Gym in Albuquerque, New Mexico, holding CSCS and TSAC-F certifications through the NSCA.
