Please reach out to chris@hybridathlete.fit if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Being a "hybrid athlete" involves training dedicated to improving disparate athletic qualities such as strength and endurance at the same time with minimal interference.
An individualized program is better for those who have very specific performance goals or need more guidance on a regular basis. Templated plans might work more favorably for people with goals that fit the scope of the program, have a lesser need for support, and can fit the program into their schedule and lifestyle with relatively little effort.
The main con of using any template you find online is that you have to mold to the program, and not the other way around. Individualized coaching takes your entire context into account (your lifestyle, your goals, your schedule, and your abilities) so it can be as effective as possible.
True beginners, even if they are coming from a almost completely sedentary lifestyle, will respond dramatically well to any kind of training. Given that, the most important thing here is avoiding doing too much early on, as it may result in pain or injury.
For some, an individualized approach can be beneficial to ensure you don't bite off more than you can chew. Or, consider one of the beginner templates I offer.
